In February of 2015 after a few short months of creating our home business we were accepted into our very first She Creates Show for International Woman's Week. As a survivor of domestic violence and a believer that one person can make a difference I decided to donate a portion of my personal sales that day back to the Kingston Interval House for the work they do with woman and children fleeing domestic violence and their efforts to end gender based violence in my city!
The energy that day of the woman and men and families that attended the show in the hundreds was incredible. I felt empowered to make a difference and wanted to do more. I begin hosting my own events as a Girls Night Out for woman and all money raised is donated to the Kingston Interval House.
I started out the first year holding the event in the Spring, Summer and Fall and as the attendees gained excitement for the events, and the cause, the more people came. By 2018 I had raised around $20,000 for the shelter and it only made me want to do more!
The event is currently entering its 10th Year. The Spring event in May 2025 was a big success and helped us reach over $100,000.00 donated to the Kingston Interval House! Big things are coming for the 10th Year!!
Money raised to date $101,025.00

Each Fall I have been hosting a Girls Night Out event. This event is an in person event that combines a number of makers, small businesses, service providers and food makers in one place to showcase their businesses and offerings to the public. The event starts with 200 swag bags for the first 200 through the door, a $10 admission which earns 5 ballots for the great door prize baskets, and also includes 50+ participants, Free massages from local college RMT students, a cash bar and onsite restaurant for food orders. The line up usually begins an hour prior to the event and attendees make their way through collecting additional swag and deals from each table. This Fall we will moving to a new location to meet the needs of the event! 100% of all proceeds from these events is donated to the Kingston Interval House.
In the Spring since 2021 I have been creating Mother's Day Gift Bags and since Spring 2024 I have been hosting a Mother's Day Tea. In combining these two initiatives I have formed a successful Spring option to help support the Kingston Interval House. The gift bags come in handmade tote bags that have approximately 15 items inside which are all donated by local makers and businesses. These bags are purchased and I provide local delivery (Gananoque to Napanee) the day before Mother's Day. On Mother's Day I host an in person Tea which includes light refreshments and desserts, Tea donated and served by Starbucks, Live music, an onsite photographer offering photos for attendees, and a few local makers and services. This Spring (2025) I raised $7650.00 bringing me to a total of $101,025.00 since my fundraising began in 2015! 100% of all proceeds from these events is donated to the Kingston Interval House.
