In February of 2015 after a few short months of creating our home business we were accepted into our very first She Creates Show for International Woman's Week. As a survivor of domestic violence and a believer that one person can make a difference I decided to donate a portion of my personal sales that day back to the Kingston Interval House for the work they do with woman and children fleeing domestic violence in my city!
The energy that day of the woman and men and families that attended the show in the hundreds was incredible. I felt empowered to make a difference and wanted to do more. I begin hosting my own events as a Girls Night Out for woman and all money would be donated to the Kingston Interval House.
I started out the first year holding the event in the Spring, Summer and Fall and as the attendees gained excitement for the events and the cause the more people came. By 2018 I had raised around $20,000 for the shelter and it only made me want to do more!
The event is currently in it's 5th Year and my Spring event is set for May 8, 2020. In 2019 I raised $10,550.00 making it the most attended and highest raised girls night outs to date. The Fundraiser has continued throughout the pandemic by online auction and Mother's Day Gift Bags and to date I have raised almost $50,000 for the Kingston Interval House!
